Is Acupuncture Safe? Painful?

Clean Needle Technique: A Manual for Acupuncturists and other Healthcare Professionals
The protocol I follow for handling and disposing of needles is written by Jenny Belluomini.
I do not reuse needlesand they are individually packaged.
Acupuncture needles are very fine and flexible. They are about the diameter of a human hair;
most times the insertion is painless through the skin.
You may feel electricity, or heaviness in the area of the insertion .
If a needle is inserted into a sore spot in the muscle, the muscle may jump.
Most people receiving acupuncture treatments find it relaxing and may even fall asleep.
